Once we have collected the skip and its contents from you, the lorry will return to our local recycling centre for sorting.
At that stage we filter the contents into different materials ready for recycling where possible with each skip load analysed on its merits.
Only skip contents that have been ordered especially that cannot be recycled will be sent to the landfill.
There are two types of skips that can be used in general – covered and open. The difference being that covered skips have a lid to protect the contents from bad weather or thieves. We can provide covered skips for an extra charge. We then have different sizes depending on your needs and what you are getting rid of. We offer 4 yard, 8 yard, and 12 yard skip hire in Surrey.

Some Councils require the user to fill in the license application form but most are happy for the skip hire company to do it on their behalf. If you need a permit and we are allowed to, we will organise the permits for you.
The cost of skip hire depends on the size of skip, the length of time you need it for and your location. On top of this there can also be price variances depending on what produce it is that you want to get rid of (for example hazardous waste, paints or mattresses). Our standard hire period is 2 weeks. If you need the skip for longer than that then we charge additional costs per day over the 2 week period.

Legally speaking, you’ll need to get a licence or permit for any skip hire needs providing the skip will be hosted on any amount of public highway. If you can place the skip entirely on private property whether that is commercial or residential in nature, then there is no need for a permit from the council.
If it’s on a public road while it’s dark which of course it will be for half of the time that it’s needed, then the skip will also need hazard lights for public awareness.
